Brandie Johnson, RVT, LVT, is a veterinary nurse and Training & Education Coordinator at Dogs and Cats Emergency and Specialty (Ethos Veterinary Health). With more than 13 years of experience in emergency and critical care, she has supported patients and pet parents through complex, often urgent medical situations, helping them translate what’s happening into clear, confident next steps.
Her work focuses on emergency and critical care, transfusion medicine, anesthesia, and veterinary nursing education. She is especially passionate about building training programs that empower veterinary nurses and strengthen how care teams support both pets and the people who love them. Through her work, she aims to make medical information more approachable, helping pet parents better understand their pet’s health and the role of diagnostic testing in guiding care.
Brandie is also the founder of MAVEN (Mid-Atlantic Veterinary Education Network), an initiative built on the belief that education, collaboration, and empowerment can elevate the veterinary profession as a whole. At home, she is a dedicated pet parent to five dogs, four cats, and a bearded dragon—each of whom reminds her of her commitment to compassionate, thoughtful care.
